Virtualization SIG
Mission: The virtualization SIG aims to put CentOS at the forefront of virtualization, both technically and support-wise.
Technical goals
- Discussing, documenting and implementing methods to optimize virtualization performance.
Maintenance of additional virtualization technologies that are not included upstream, such as KVM and qemu.
- Assisting in building ready-to-run images for common virtualization technologies, and development of installable CentOS media for virtualization platforms such as OpenVZ.
- Work closely with providers of virtualization products, to see how we can accomodate use of their products with CentOS.
Support goals
- Maintenance of virtualization-related documentation in the CentOS Wiki.
Maintenance of the centos-virt mailing list.

Membership
This SIG mailinglist is open and can be joined freely. SIG members are appointed by the SIG team leader, and maintain certain resources related to the SIG (e.g. documentation in the Wiki or packages).
