4. Summary
Ed is an IT manager for a mid-sized, multi-location travel agency in the southwest United States. Interests include family, electric cars and Virtualization. He has experience with DOS, Windows (2.0, 3.0, 3.1, 95, 98, NT, ME, XP, 2003) and Linux (Slackware 0.99 - 8.0, Gentoo, CentOS5) in mixed environments as well as WANs using frame relay, ATM over DSL and SSL VPNs.
5. History
Ed first started learning to program computers using BASIC almost 30 years ago. He has added Assembler (6502), Pascal, Fortran, C, Lisp, Prolog, Fourth, various DBase languages, and, more recently, HTML, BASH and PHP to his list of computer languages. Network administration started as a way to control the developement environment but grew to be his primary occupation. Managing the technology, and the people helping to maintain it, was a natural progression.
