The CentOS Hardening SIG Proposal
SIG Status: Pending Approval
- Members of the CentOS community, who shares similar goals brings their talent and experiences to deliver a secured (hardened) version of CentOS. The SIG will use the best practices and guidelines; such as Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) to deliver this secured version. Some things that this SIG aims to deliver are a more secured general purpose kernel and corresponding code, server services and more restricted access to regular users; e.g. removing access for a regular user to shutdown or restart a server without being prompted for their sudo password.
This is the DRAFT for the hardening SIG, as time progresses and the various personnel meet to discuss the scope of this SIG together with the representative of the CentOS board, we will provide detail information of this SIG and its future goals
