At the beginning of the audit it was discovered that we had 67 channels under the #centos* namespace, many of which were not known to anyone. After a review of the channels it was decided to take the following steps:

• Ensure that Jim Perrin (Evolution) was listed as channel owner for all channels within the namespace due to his role of primary GC for the namespace
• Ensure that John R. Dennison (Bahhumbug) was listed as channel owner for all channels due to his role of secondary GC for the namespace

• Consolidate all channel ACLs for all public / administrative channels with the exception of #centos-admin and #centos-qa and

  • Remove all unnecessary flagsets
  • Review / Update all remaining flagsets
  • Add the shared -ops ACL entry
• Remove the following channels:

  5. #centos-de
  6. #centos-enterprise (as per jrd)
  7. #centos-eta
  8. #centos-expert (as per jrd)
  9. #centos-france
  10. #centos-id

  13. #centos-indonesia
  14. #centos-ir
  15. #centos-is-late-again
  16. #centos-italia.org
  17. #centos-ja
  18. #centos-kernel-updates
  19. #centos-my
  20. #centos-no-douches
  21. #centos-pe
  22. #centos-pl
  23. #centos-qc
  24. #centos-ro (as per wolfy)
  25. #centos-rs
  26. #centos-ru
  27. #centos-sales
  28. #centos-si
  29. #centos-sl
  30. #centos-sparc

• Close and forward the following channels:
  1. #centos-beginners to #centos
  2. #centos-br - Forwarded to #centos for 30 days

  5. #centos-es - Forwarded to #centos for 30 days
  6. #centos-help to #centos
  7. #centos-politics to #centos-social
  8. #centos-support to #centos
• Review and decide disposition of the following locale-specific channels:
